Horizon BCBSNJ understands the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic is having on our dental health care providers and your patients, our members.
On March 23, 2020, Governor Phil Murphy signed Executive Order No. 109, directing the suspension of all elective surgeries and invasive procedures that are scheduled to be performed on adults after 5 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2020.
Dentists who participate in the Horizon Dental Choice (HDC) plan must submit monthly encounters for services provided to HDC patients. Dentists receive $2 per encounter, paid on a quarterly basis.
Horizon Dental reminds dentists that services for accidental dental injuries are usually covered under the patient’s medical, not dental, plan, and will be processed according to the medical plan benefits.
We are committed to helping you provide care to patients during this public health crisis. Horizon BCBSNJ continues to monitor the American Dental Association guidelines, and local, state and federal guidance related to COVID-19.
Staying Informed: COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
Horizon Traditional Network dentists are in network for Horizon Young Grins, Horizon Family Grins and Horizon Family Grins Plus plans for Individual members with group number NG0001 or 0001DN. The group number is listed on the member ID card.

Horizon Dental is reminding members with diabetes to schedule regular dental appointments.
